Title: Technical Program Manager

Duration: 12 months

Location: Mountain View

 

Position Description

  • SMEs for Messages and Dialer (2) and backfill/extension for Biz Comms (1)
  • The role will be technical as the person is expected to work with Engineering teams to understand and implement product debugging techniques and tools 
  • 3-month goals for Messages and Dialer Engops temp (TBD)
  • Ensure basic, intermediate and advanced technical trainings is in place
  • Create process for new feature trainings and bug learnings for IN team
  • Own processes that need FTE intervention (eg: accesses, partner domain, etc.) 
  • Get proactive feedback from Eng triage teams on Engops triage, set up a technical quality score
  • Implement 2 or more process improvements to triage through automation or optimization
  • Conceptualize, design and implement a program which will help in building an ecosystem for Google and application developers
  • Work with developers and partner companies in the local markets to develop and launch robust, useful web and mobile applications
  • Collaborate closely with key application developers and communities to make the program successful

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide programmatic leadership for a product by working with all internal and external stakeholders to drive scaling efficiencies in the operation
  • Keeping the team updated and prepared to support issues/bugs, new products and features
  • Scale the program to be able to provide excellent product support experiences to global partners, cross functional leads (esp Eng, gUP and PE/TSC) of the C&C team
  • Drive E2E program management for a series of efforts across the product:
  • Build product expertise for the team working with Engineering to understand and drive issue triage and resolution and scale the team to do this (through trainings, playbooks, tools, documentation etc.)
  • Be a champion for product excellence and reduce technical debt (i.e number of bugs)
  • Partner closely with XFN teams (PE, TPgM, TSC, gUP, PM) to understand product direction and ensure alignment
  • Manage schedules, identify risks and clearly communicate them to stakeholders, and propose solutions
  • Work across functions, teams, and product areas to manage dependencies
  • Ensure no critical product issues are missed and are acted on promptly
  • Create systems, processes and training that enables the operation to scale, and work quickly & efficiently
  • Identify process gaps and iterate on lightweight solutions
  • Own clear communication to the team and stakeholders via artifacts, emails, and managing effective meetings

 

Requirements

  • BE/BTech degree or equivalent experience in Computer science with a strong academic record (MBA a plus)
  • Experience of managing large-scale and dynamic technical programs
  • Ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels
  • Good knowledge of web/AJAX development technology landscape
  • Ability to leverage technology to solve real life problems
  • Be a product expert
  • Experience with collaboration and communication products or mobile app development a plus
  • Good technical troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience and vice versa
  • Ability to document and improve processes, identify product dependencies working with a large number of technical stakeholders
  • QA or development skills on Android/ Mobile apps
  • Writing technical debugging and troubleshooting information
  • SQL or scripting experience
  • Good to have skills:
    • Technical training or writing
    • Building internal tools, web apps for troubleshooting, chrome extensions, dashboards
    • Exec presentations to technical/non-technical audience
    • Technical support and debugging skills
    • Be a product expert. Experience with collaboration and communication products or mobile app development a plus
    • Good technical troubleshooting and debugging
